The Stangl Sportsman pattern was initially designed by Kay Hackett and was introduced in 1955. The pattern was originally focused on smoking accessories. This pattern uses a gray engobe background with a realistically colored Pintail duck. It has a mid-century modern oval design and feel. Like most Stangl, it is hand carved and painted with no two pieces exactly alike.
Measures ~ 10 1/2" W x 8" L x 1 1/4" H. Heavy for its size.
In excellent vintage condition. Without chips, deep scratches, or cracks. The colors are intact and bright. The glaze is shiny. Please see the pictures. less
