Chinese porcelain Imperial Award pomegranate bitong, with a blue and off white glazed body and interior and a bright white glazed inset base, gently sloping sides and a double rim. The body of the brush pot is decorated with three, finely drawn, polychrome, branching leafy pomegranates on an off-white ground with light umber speckles. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand is included. A blue, Kangxi era inscription in fine, calligraphic, Kaishu script is glazed to the inset base. Circa late 19th century, no later than early 20th.
Inscription translation: Fujian Navy Admiral Shi Lang, lives up to the emperor's grace and has great success in recovering Taiwan, is now appointed General of Jinghai and titled Marquis of Jinghai, Qing Dynasty, Kang Xi period, 22nd auspicious day of Autumn.
