This antique wooden chest from France features a subtly curved serpentine top and front facade and case which houses two drawers, a nicely carved and scalloped skirt about three sides, and raised upon four slender cabriole legs. Inlay details embellish the drawer fronts and sides, and at front center skirt swag in a shield motif. The original drawer hardware has a pair of ring pulls with decorative floral backplates, flanking an escutcheon in a bow-tied wreath design. This early 19th century French Louis XV commode will make an elegant addition to a bedroom, entry hall, or a great side table to a seating arrangement. less
