The body itself, has a nice sand-grain effect glaze, with hues of beige, brown and white, combined with a glossier, smoky-brown colored glaze, that gives the piece the ''lava-drip" effect of this period. The mouth and lip graduate into a slightly, darker colored glaze with the same effect seen on the body. Both the inside of the vase and base (where the maker's mark and model number can be seen), are brown (see photos.)

This piece is in wonderful condition with very light signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time on the body, inside and bottom, as it was very well-cared for over the years (see photos.) There are no cracks or chips on the body, lip, mouth or bottom. 1, very small drip of white glaze at an edge of the base (see photos.) It remains as solid and sturdy, as it is beautiful.
