French terracotta hand made and hand painted mug or drinking vessel, with typical Jaspé decoration. This little mug is rare indeed as these were one of the most used items in 19th c. French homes, and were often damaged or broken. I am not calling this piece a pitcher, as it does not have a pouring spout. It is in excellent antique condition.

Found in Paris, this authentic terracotta mug is accented with rich swirls of deep green./blue (almost black) and cream paint, with a warm terracotta glazed interior. A fun piece that will mix well with your collection of lustered earthenware pottery or alone as a unique rustic accent. Just add your favorite flower buds from the garden! It is watertight. Recommended to be used only for decoration and not as a drinking or pouring vessel.

This piece is in excellent antique condition with a few minor glaze loss flea bites on the rim top. Also seen is a small area of glaze loss on one side. Not really noticeable but mentioned for accuracy. Please see the photos as they are important part of the description.

This little mug measures 4 inches high, 2 1./4 inches wide at the base, and 5 inches in depth from the end of the handle across the top to the other side.
