This Helen Frankenthaler rare limited edition hand pulled silkscreen serigraph Abstract Expressionist print " Beginnings " is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection. Published by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and List Art Posters in 2002, for the 25th Anniversary of " Lincoln Center Live ". Printed by Brand X Editions on extra thick heavyweight archival cotton wove paper stock with a matte finish. The rare original hand pulled silkscreen serigraph print was printed in a limited edition of 500, plate signed by the artist and unnumbered. The print features an original artwork by Frankenthaler titled " Beginnings " created in 1994.
Helen Frankenthaler ( 1928 - 2011 ) is an American Abstract Expressionist painter of a liberal Jewish background, and is a major contributor to the history of postwar Modernist painting. She exhibited her work for over six decades. spanning several generations of Abstract painters while continuing to produce vital and ever changing new art works.
Her work has been the subject of several retrospective exhibitions including The Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Whitney Museum, The Jewish Museum, and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She has been exhibited worldwide since the 1950's, and was awarded The National Medal of the Arts in 2001. Her artworks are included in the collections of many of the world's most important museums.
