This antique lyre harp spinnet desk features a curved, flip-top front, turned trestle legs separated by a spindle stretcher, ornately carved moldings, and two-toned wood ornamentation. When opened up for use, the functional elements include a pull-out writing surface, two pull-out drawers, and multiple cubbies. One drawer retains the manufacturing stamp that reads 'The Daisy Line, Faribault, Minn,' which was a line from Peterson Art Furniture, produced in Minnesota in the early 1900s. The key is not included.
Dark walnut is the predominant wood color, with mahogany accents.
The Slide-out writing surface is 20" wide and 17" deep at full extension.

The desk has been freshly polished and waxed, with the original wood stain left intact. Minor scuffs along the trestle feet, typical of age. Flaws to note: One small nick on the front left side apron about 1/4" x 1/4" big. The pull-out writing surface shows a couple of areas that are more matte and less polished than the rest. The top of the desk shows two parallel lines where the original wax was unfortunately stripped by masking tape placed by the estate company to secure the top for transportation. We minimized this blemish as much as possible with polishing to preserve the original condition without refinishing the entire surface. It is subtle but visual upon close inspection. All flaws are clarified in the last three photos. less
