Laurencin was a French stage designer, painter and printmaker. She is known for her beautiful portraits capturing women in a slightly sad/introspect moods. She was born in 1883 and died in 1956. She was the daughter of the French politician named Alfred Toulet but did not know it until after his death. We love the delicate and airy feel to this print. The colors are strong and range from off-white, light pink, indigo blue to shades of gray and black. The print is in excellent condition. The off-white matte and white-washed frame shows this print off to its best advantage. The frame shows wear with some minor paint flaking and chipping.
