- For you to consider is a fabulous high quality stretched crystal art glass “Tie-Dye” 8 point centerpiece bowl by Chalet … more For you to consider is a fabulous high quality stretched crystal art glass “Tie-Dye” 8 point centerpiece bowl by Chalet or Lorraine Glass Co, Canada. Dating to the late 1960s, this is a substantial and very desirable piece that is somewhat difficult to find. Standing approximately 9” in height, the centerpiece is 7” wide and it stretches 19” in length. Dynamic coloring from clear to cobalt blue, emerald green, lemon yellow, tangerine, burnt orange, with traces of crimson along the edges , all changing in intensity with its placement in the light. Occasional and random light surface scratches can be seen on close inspection, but these are not casually noticed or distracting. Otherwise the centerpiece is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or compromising imperfections found. Air bubbles, striations, and other anomalies inherent in hand crafted art glass are present in this piece which enhance its character and individuality. Wear is commensurate for age and history of use so please regard all of the photos as they form a descriptive part of the listing. An extraordinary showstopper, this iconic centerpiece personifies the glamour and artistic craftsmanship that became the gold standard with Canadian glass artisans during the 1960s. less
