This minimalist desk console is an absolutely spectacular piece of furniture and history. Gorgeous genuine, top quality, meticulously handcrafted wood structure stands on four legs capped with brass feet, and boasts a lovely single brass drawer pull.
The desk console top surface is 100% genuine wood, but as was the trend in the 1950'S, is encased in formica making it extremely durable and gives a really nice glossy finish.
The wood has beautiful tones and a sheen that defies it's age. The solid wood drawer has tongue and groove construction giving it a very strong and solid foundation. The interior of the drawer is lined in a synthetic, wood facsimile material for easy cleaning. On the interior bottom of the drawer, there's a small patch of damage to the surface that is only seen when the drawer is pulled completely open.
There's some overspray from the paint/stain to the underside that is not visible.
This rare, genuine Mid-Century Modern 'Management by Alma Desk Company' desk console measures 70" in length, 18" in width, and 29" in height and is long enough to hold your large screen TV!
