This is the description from the appraiser.."An exceedingly graceful ladle indebted to the artistic inspiration of the Adams style. This featuring a delicate bright-work engraved border and a bow-tied shield shaped medallion with pendant husks. The whole termination in a cropped rattail at the deep beaded shell bowl. 13 1/2: long, Mark: Oval containing Hibernia, shaped outline containing crown harp pointed shield containing E, rectangle containing J-P. Maker John Pittar, Dublin, Ireland, Dated 1777."
It has been in my family for 100 years. A truly lovely piece. Very light scratches, Very light tarnish. Please ask for additional photos
