It's been recently … Read more This is a magical moment captured on an original etching that's been hand colored in the 1800s. It's been recently framed with a dark gold wood frame that has a deep blue inside one of the gold recesses giving it a fresh but vintage look. A robin's egg silk matte with a thin gold surround highlights the etching. The image is of the Château Theveray in Normandy, a wonderful pink brick chateau topped with blue slate. A young man and his new bride stand before their inheritance, a 500 year old family legacy at the time. The detail is exauisite and there is much to discover as the workers take a break frum cutting timber, horses roam and there is an air of tranquility. The château was built in the 1200s as a fortress and still stands today and this is one of many enchanting moments over the centuries that has been lovingly preserved by the artistF. Benoist.
