This Jackson Pollock rare vintage 1989 first edition Abstract Expressionist lithograph print iconic landmark volume collector's large hardcover art book is an incredibly special and unique book to add to your library collection.
The first edition large volume hardcover art book with sage green linen covered boards, silver tone foil embossed spine titles, and dust jacket is published by Harry N. Abrams Inc. Publishers, New York, printed in Japan in 1989. It features an expansive monograph survey of the Abstract Expressionist artworks of the artist Jackson Pollock, with accompanied compelling text authored by acclaimed professor of art history Ellen S. Landau.
Jackson Pollock ( 1912 - 1956 ) was an American painter and major figure in the Abstract Expressionist Art Movement. He was well known for his unique style of " Drip Painting ". The groundbreaking images he created, and the materials he worked with were both experimental, innovative and non-traditional. During his life, Pollock enjoyed considerable fame and notoriety, he was a major artist of his generation. He had a volatile personality and struggled for most of his life. His marriage to artist Lee Krasner had an important influence on his career and legacy. The Museum of Modern Art New York has held four retrospective exhibitions of his artworks. Pollock is considered to be one of the most important and influential artists of The Twentieth Century.
