Distinctive 19th century English chaise longue or lounge crafted from rich walnut. Made in the grand William and Mary taste and decorated with scrolled supports. The seat has been re-upholstered in a plush, soft fabric with a very deep cushion. Originally cane the longue is now supported with strapping and fabric. The seat back features an inset of woven cane and a large bolster pillow. Beautifully crafted with gracefully curved Baroque style stretchers and acanthus accents. The crest is decorated with a crown in the center and finials on each side.

Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use. Reupholstered. Additions or alterations made to the original: Cane seat replaced with new webbing and fabric. Beautifully crafted with an aged patina as seen in photos. Newer upholstery and cane seat replaced with fabric.
