The inside measurements where the mattress goes are as follows, 54 1/2" wide inside the rails and 72 1/2" long. Modern full size is 54" by 75" so you will have to get a custom box spring and mattress because of the length. The plus here is that across the side rails measures 62" wide so you could use a full size box spring with a queen size mattress that went over the rails, but it would still have to be a custom length. Posts are 49" tall and the outside measurements are 80" long and 62" wide. Getting a custom length on a box spring and mattress is pretty easy and if the salesman says its difficult go somewhere else. This is a strong bed with super wood! less
