A finely carved pair of Ox bookends in walnut, made in the western United States in the 1950s. The oxen are finely detailed, and we especially like the decorative patterns on the platform sides and the edges of the backplates. They have no maker's markings.
There is virtually no noticeable wear but we'd recommend a good wipe with tung oil or similar to clean and preserve the wood. Listed dimensions are for one bookend.
