- Large scale reproduction of America’s very first gas street lantern in cast aluminum this is the “Revere” model post top … more Large scale reproduction of America’s very first gas street lantern in cast aluminum this is the “Revere” model post top from Pemco Lighting Products, and is utilizing a similar design of America’s very first gas street lamp found in Baltimore, Maryland 1817. Pemco is a is a distributor manufacturer that you literally have to be a municipality just to purchase from them, it was difficult enough just to get a price quote, lamp runs on a HPS (high pressure sodium) bulb with a mogul base, and slip fits atop any 3” lamp post or column. Apparently these were acquired from a leftover surplus purchased originally by the City of Greenwood Village, a Denver suburb caddy corner to Cherry Hills Village, which they are still using to this day (pictured). Total of 3 are currently available, circa 1997, made in U.S.A. less
