This silkscreen 'Stillwater Cove' by Carol Bodendieck Chapman (b. 1936) is beautiful in its simplicity. It evokes a calm early morning on the water. Circa 1980 it is number 22 out of an edition of 200. Signed in pencil. Printed on sturdy white wove paper. Unframed 22 x 19 inches (paper) and 18 x 14 inches (image).
For nearly five decades Chapman has been a successful portrait, landscape and abstract painter working in oils, pastels and watercolors, as well as a sculptor of steel and bronze. This versatile artist’s stylistic signatures are color and space.
