Elegant and graceful hand-carved mid-19th century shield back Hepplewhite armchair. The dark mahogany frame is expertly carved all along the frame. The corners have rosettes with tapered reeded legs. The seat is an hourglass hand tied coil spring construction and newly covered in a Classic satin stripe fabric. The quality of the carving is exceptional.
