Fabulous colors on this original oil painting on canvas by well known local artist Jorge Silvestre. Titled “Bodegón II” (“Still Life II). Dated July 2000. Signed on lower right corner. Also signed and titled in back of painting. Beautifully framed in gold tone frame with bright yellow wood border. Size of painting without frame is 40” wide x 30” tall
Artist Jorge Silvestre was born on September 9th 1965 in la Romana, Dominican Republic.
He is a Dominican artist in the purest sense: his art is a true reflection of all things Caribbean – bright, vibrant colors of palm trees, beach huts, the beautiful blue Caribbean sky, each one an abstract representation of the Dominican lifestyle and love of life. Silvestre has had a very successful career, with exhibits in different countries, while some of his masterpieces can be found in private collections throughout Sweden, Korea, United States, Japan, Italy, United Kingdom, France and Spain. On March 20th ,2009, Spanish art dealer, Mr. Oscar Villegas, invited him to participate in a Collective Exhibition in Cadiz at El Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de la Línea called “Raíces Caribe”, in which five famous Dominican painters showcased their most recent artwork. less
