Love the muted "metal" tones in this tapestry which is one of the oldest forms of woven textile.
Copper, Silver, Bronze and Gold neutrals make this a perfect fit in any space. Depicting several people dressed finely and enjoying musical entertainment in the parlour.
Unframed it is stamped and embroidered "Made in France" - Made of fine wool and possibly some silk/pearl cotton yarn. Circa early 20th century.
If there is a symbolic legacy from the loom, it tells us to weave the stories of our time. Bring forth history with the eloquence of the woven image. Spin. Dip the thread in color. Imagine. p.24”
