Crafted from brass with blue stained glass with an interior mirrored bottom; you’ll find a catch chain on the interior to prevent the lid from opening up all the way and causing stress to the hinges. The whimsical and colorful cherub was produced from an artwork print by Thomas Cathey. This cutie measures 4” x 2¾” x 1¾” D/W/H; interior 3¾” x 2½” x 1½” D/W/H; weight 7 oz. In excellent condition with age-appropriate wear. I’ve kept it polished as seen in the photos but it’s not necessary. If your preference is a vintage patinated brass look, it will age naturally over time. The right side does not close flat (see photo 3) which is not very discernible and does not affect its beauty or utility. Given to me as a gift, it hails from the early 1990s. The import company’s label is on the bottom; quite possibly made in one of the small villages in the State of Guerrero Mexico, which is known for its artisanal metalwork art. For a collector of unique trinket or keepsake boxes this cutie is a must have or a perfect gift for someone who is!
