This beautiful vintage Quan Yin, Buddhist Goddess of Compassion, Mercy and Kindness is created in gorgeous goldstone or aventurine glass … more This beautiful vintage Quan Yin, Buddhist Goddess of Compassion, Mercy and Kindness is created in gorgeous goldstone or aventurine glass and is displayed on a fabulous carved teak stand. Goldstone is glass that contains a myriad of tiny, angular crystals of copper, which when viewed in strong light exudes a golden sparkle over the surface of this marvelous carving. Once the glass making process is complete, a master carver creates the beautiful figure. This lovely Quan Yin is depicted with a small girl holding a ball in her left hand and the background is a large, exotic plant. There is an exquisitely carved teak stand which is attached to the Quan Yin with adhesive and a presentation box, lined in silk. This marvelous Quan Yin was purchased in China in the 1980s Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom including stand=7-1/2 inches, Width side to side at widest=5 inches, Depth from front to back=3 inches, Height from top to bottom without stand=6-1/2 inches. This marvelous Quan Yin has been well cared for, gently displayed and is in excellent vintage condition, free from chips, cracks or other imperfections. It is the perfect addition to your Asian art collection, particularly if you like the Chinese design. less
