I recently acquired a wonderful small collection of photography from a local estate. I actually bought the estate in order to get a few photographs for my personal collection. There were also a couple in the lot that I am offering this week. This is a wonderful c1930s original photograph by william henry bettle. For those not familiar with the photographer I have included his biography below. This is a wonderful large silver print measuring 14 x 11 inches. Photo is in outstanding as printed condition. Photograph is on its original mount that measures 16 x 13 1/4 inches. Artist's original stamp on the back of the mount. Photograph is archival housed in backing and matte. Ready for framing. Photograph originally came from a charity auction donated by a gallery. Includes the original page from the auction.

For those not familiar with the artist his biography from a dealer who is selling the artist's photographs reads: "Bettle was born in 1873 and was an amateur photographer, who worked as superintendent of meters at Public Service Electric & Gas in Newark, NJ. In 1950, He died at age 77. He exhibited extensively at the photo salons of the mid to late 1930s. The Worcester Art Museum and the Brooklyn Museum of Art both have holdings of his work” See less
