The Cairene hand-knotted wool area rug is named after the storied Egyptian capital city, a source of rug-making from as early as the 15th century. Large medallions break up the cream background of this soft rug with gold, light blue, sienna red, and muted lavender accents bringing a fresh look to these Turkish motifs.
Each rug is made-to-order in 6-8 weeks, hand-knotted in India with luxurious 100% New Zealand wool.
This listing is for a 12x12 inch sample of the Cairene Hand-Knotted Wool Area Rug
The Iconium Collection
Inspired by the ancient traditions of Turkish rug making, KFD founder Kevin Francis O'Gara translated traditional motifs and symbology he found in vintage area rugs. These hand-knotted rugs are made the same way, resulting in heirloom-quality pieces to pass down through the generations.
