The picture shows a winding country lane with clouds over autumnal landscape. As in all of his paintings, the artist plays with light and shadow, builds up with vertical and horizontal structures exciting views.
Franz Kortejohann (* 1864; † 1936) was a German landscape painter and is assigned to Late Impressionism.

Mixed media: probably gouache and chalk. The object shows minor signs of use due to age. The partly milky haze are just reflections of the glass in front of the subject.
