Rare Solid Brass from England - this antique frog was originally handcrafted as an ashtray with a hidden compartment for the ashes. Today we can use it for a trinket box or to store jewelry - even on its own without a job to do - it would make a great addition to any decor.
Stamped on the base "England". The brass hinge works perfectly and the patina is as expected for a piece of metal craft over 100 years old. I polished lightly for photos - additional polishing is being left to the buyer.
3.25 D 3" W and a little over 1.25" H
The compartment area measures 2.25 D and 1" at widest and .5" D
