This coffee table was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1929-1930, for the Villa Tugendhat in Brno, although it is often mistakenly referred to as the Barcelona table. As with the Barcelona chair, the characteristic cross dominates the base, however the crossed flat steel is employed differently. In this case it is more reminiscent of Mies van der Rohes use of steel frames in his architectural projects. This coffee table with a chrome base and a new glass top is in very good condition. Less is more. Lit. Mies van der Rohe, Architecture and Design in Stuttgart, Barcelona, Brno , Vitra Design Museum, 1998, p. 107. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
