A wonderful 1950s mid-century modern Marbro Lamp Company tall Italian ceramic table lamp with turquoise textured glaze, satin black lacquered wood base, brass accents, and original shade.
Features a very uncommon and fantastically tactile turquoise-over-white glaze technique that’s best described as a fat lava and mudcrack hybrid with a densely formed popcorn-like texture. Gives it the convincing effect of being covered in fragments of actual turquoise gemstones.
On satin black lacquered turned wood base. Brass collar at bottom is matched by a tall brass stem topped by dual sockets with long chains and reddish-brown wood ball pulls. Satin black lacquered turned wood finial matches the base.
Original off-white/cream raw silk shade accented by complementary turquoise bands at top.
Retains label on stem near sockets which reads: “Marbro Original - Italian Ceramic - Old World Craftsmanship - New World Style”.
Dimensions listed are overall. Base is 7 inches in diameter. Body is 8.63 inches in diameter at its widest point and 22 inches high including base. Stem is 20 inches high. Shade is 20.25 inches high by 16 inches in diameter. less
