A gorgeous set of six mille fleur (thousand flowers) saucers featuring hand-painted peonies, pansies, chrysanthemums, lotus flowers, and grapes to name more than a few...and all on a gilt ground.
This pattern is said to symbolize all of the flowers bestowing their blessings.
These flower gardens are painted on gorgeous gilt bases that really make the colors shine.
The artist's initials seem to be painted on the undersides of the plates.
