The lamp is in good condition considering its age. It has no major imperfections on its shade, articulated arm, or base., and its wiring appears to be in good condition, too. The plug is not grounded, however, (i.e., both prongs are the same size, as was the standard back in the 1970's), so having the lamp rewired to add a uni-directional grounding plug is therefore recommended. The 6 X 8 inch size noted above applies to the weighted base only. The articulated arm has two sections which are 10 inches and 12 inches long respectively (the section holding the lamp head is the longest). Since the arm zigzags, the lamp is effectively as wide as the longest arm, i.e. 12 inches wide. When the arms are extended to their full height, though, the width shrinks and the height rises to 18-20 inches.

Imminently practical, it bends in almost any direction and shines a bright 60 watts onto your table or desk. The entire articulated arm can be lifted out of the weighted base for easy packing, storing, or moving, and the base is heavy enough to keep the lamp from tipping over, no matter how you configure the arm. Dad's note on the paperwork indiates he purchased the lamp in 1974 and it has reliably served us ever since. Make it yours and let it do the same for you. less
