Introducing a rare Model 4140 three drawer dresser designed by Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller. Produced in the 1940's this prime example of Art Deco Design is constructed from a walnut frame with a dark gloss piano mahogany veneer that has stood the test of time.
Featuring three large drawers with the original padded off-white "leather cloth" upholstery squares on the faces this elegant dresser provides both ample storage space and subtle style unique to the pre-war period. The top drawer includes a vide poche sliding and removable tray for smaller items and each drawer showcases intricate dovetail joinery.
Beginning in 1932, and continuing up to the time of his death in 1944, Rohde advised Herman Miller's president, Dirk Jan De Pree on design, marketing, and production and was highly influential in the industry by introducing the modern design which became the national style of the US during his tenure at Herman Miller.
Ideal for designers and purist collectors alike this exquisite time piece is ready for a lifetime more of use. Make it yours today and elevate your living space with a touch of authentic American Art Deco Design.
