Selected photograph of the iconic 1951 Jaguar C-Type by photographer Don Heiny. This print is about 20 years old, but it is preserved framed in perfect condition. Our particular piece comes from a private collection in Paris.
The black and white photograph of the 1951 Jaguar C-Type evokes a sense of timeless elegance. The dramatic contrast between dark and light tones highlights the flowing, streamlined contours of the car, capturing its classic beauty and sporting spirit. The absence of color allows the focus to be on the details, such as the iconic front grille, distinctive headlights and smooth lines flowing from the hood to the rear.
The 1951 Jaguar C-Type is an iconic sports car manufactured by Jaguar Cars in the 1950s. It was developed specifically to compete in endurance racing and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951, the first British car to do so after World War II.
The C-Type featured an aerodynamic and lightweight design, with an aluminum body and a tubular steel chassis. It was equipped with a 3.4-liter in-line six-cylinder engine, similar to the one used in the Jaguar XK120. with an output of around 200 horsepower, the C-Type was capable of reaching speeds in excess of 150 mph (240 km/h).
This car was an important milestone for Jaguar in the racing arena and paved the way for the brand's later successes in motor racing. In addition to its track performance, the Jaguar C-Type was also noted for its elegant design and exclusivity, as only a total of 53 units were produced between 1951 and 1953.
Today, the 1951 Jaguar C-Type is highly valued by collectors and classic car enthusiasts, and is considered a piece of motorsport history.
This black and white image captures the essence of a bygone era and transports us back to the days when the Jaguar C-Type dominated the race tracks. It conveys a sense of speed and excitement, freezing a moment in motorsport history. The choice to use black and white instead of bright colors adds an air of nostalgia and invites us to appreciate the classic elegance of this iconic sports car.
