A "gurgling frog" beverage pitcher made of terracotta painted in green, blue, yellow and white. The cartoonlike effigy features an animated looking frog with his head pointed upward and his mouth wide open. The frog is for many cultures that span from the ancient Egyptians, to centuries old tales of folklore from Asia that have the frog as a symbol of fertility and new ideas. It is said that the frog with its mouth wide open catches the rain drops and transforms them into the elixir of youth and opportunity, aka the fountain of youth. circa 1970 China signed by WLC in a stamped mark on its underside. less
