It was made in Delanco, New … more This is a great, rare, vintage Stylex drafting chair that I rescued and refurbished. It was made in Delanco, New Jersey, likely in the 1960s, although there is no date stamp on it. The seat base is completely new with comfortable Sailrite CushionRite foam covered in Naugahyde Universal black marine vinyl. The seat back has also been recovered. The seat height is adjustable as is the seat back which also has depth adjustment. The metal parts have been thoroughly cleaned but do show their age.
If you are looking for a vintage drafting chair this is the one. I prefer the height adjustment mechanism in this over Cramer chairs which can have problems with their spring loaded adjustment pins. Seat height as pictured is 25.5” and adjusts from a low of 22 3/4” to 27 1/2”. The top of the seat back is approximately 40” high with the seat at maximum height. less
