This circa 1890's tansu retains the … more An exceptional antique Japanese clothing chest from Yamagata prefecture, made from chestnut and cedar. This circa 1890's tansu retains the original decorative black iron hardware as well as two of the original keys. All the drawers glide easily with one of the keys locking the small door. Behind the door are two small drawers with a secret compartment. The dark reddish brown color of the wood has been enhanced with a semi-gloss lacquer finish. less
