Original hand cut collage by Lori Fiacco depicts a still life with whimsical kitchen scene: Asparagus spears, bowls, and a set of striped chopsticks. This one-of-a-kind collage was created from fragments of the artist's own original monotype and collagraph artworks. Works were made using heavy cotton rag papers, and the resulting collage is highly dimensional and textural. Bright color palette with lavender, deep purple, green, blue, pink, and orange. Pencil signed at bottom left. White wood frame with archival assembly. Framed dimensions: 12.25 inches x 15.25 inches; collage measures 11 inches x 14 inches.
Monotypes and collagraphs are made by hand and have a visual quality that cannot be recreated in any medium. The etching press adds an element of chance that can’t be predicted or controlled, and produces unique textures, colors, and patterns.
