On the back further signature, date and title. Giovanni Balansino, Piedmontese by origin but Lombard by adoption, chose to depict with his painting made of broad, nervous brushstrokes his love for both lands, dedicating much of his production to them. In the proposed painting, Giovanni Balansino presents a foreshortening of a country street near a village he identifies as Cervasca, a small mountain town in the Cuneo area, enlivened by two barely sketched figurines that blend into the natural environment, due to the overlapping colors spread with rapid brushstrokes and indefinite outlines. The work is presented in a frame.
