Handmade glass decanter with round glass stopper with etched image of the Trundholm Sun Chariot.
“The Trundholm Sun Chariot (Danish: Solvognen), is a late Nordic Bronze Age artifact discovered in Denmark. It is a representation of the Sun Chariot, a bronze statue of a horse and a large bronze disk, which are placed on a device with spoked wheels.”
VERY RARE. Limited Edition.
After Meisner left Holmegaard décor company in the 1970’s, he opened his own glass studio and is considered a master Danish artisan.
This piece has the Meisner Denmark sticker on it.
This was photographed with a black background; it is completely clear glass.
Etched on the bottom: “……. Brandt, SOLVOGNEN 14-12 Aarh J. Kr., Wr 5”.
