Artwork is an oil painting on canvas, and the piece is in overall very nice condition.
Gold wood frame is looking very nice with really no wear to make note of, although very very minor wear still might have the slightest possibility to be found in a spot....

Pangandaran Marketplace is found along the southern coast in Indonesia, and is located in a beach side fishing village community.
John van der Sterren's artwork can almost be said to be Post-Impressionism in style with its almost leaning towards abstract, yet vibrant landscapes. His artwork is highly sought after in SE Asia & Australia, and it is not very common to find his work here in the States.

John van der Sterren is a Dutch/New Zealander, born in Sukabumi, West Java in 1938. His earliest years were spent on a tea estate, 60km from Sukabumi, where his father was the ‘Administrateur’, prior to World War II. After World War II, during which his family were interned in concentration camps, his parents decided to immigrate to New Zealand, and eventually became New Zealand citizens.
