This is a RARE and ANTIQUE bohemian Ruby Red glass bowl, certainly done for the Middle East market, in mid 19 century.

It was a tradition in Egypt ( and some other countries, like Syria and Turkey ), to serve Bruguieri ( Moghat ) to woman after her delivery ( to give her strength and pain relief ).

This bowl was used for this purpose.

Very heavy glass ( crystal ), hand blown and hand polished to nearly perfection.

Gold and white enamel decoration all over ( you can feel the enamel layer while touching it ).
