- This marvelous punch or baby's/child's christening cup is created in gorgeous sterling silver and was made by John James Keith … more This marvelous punch or baby's/child's christening cup is created in gorgeous sterling silver and was made by John James Keith of London in 1828. The beautiful C shaped handle is an intricate acanthus leaf pattern and the body of the cup has a rolled edge and waist which transitions into a bulbous shape, then into a graduated pedestal base. The interior has a gold gilt wash. Hallmarks are: Rampant Lion= England, Leopard head=London, Date letter of n=1828, I.J.K in a rectangle=John James Keith, George IV in profile=assay mark. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom=3-1/2 inches, Diameter=2-1/2 inches, Capacity=4 fluid ounces. This marvelous punch cup has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent antique condition, free from cracks, repairs, damage, dents or other imperfections. There is some light scratching on the outside cup which does not diminish the beauty or usability of this lovely cup. It is the perfect addition to your silver serving collection, particularly if you like the English history! less
