This rare antique carved wooden bowl or trough can be used in a variety of decorative ways including with flowers, greenery, candles, decorative balls or fruit. This 19th century piece was originally used to knead dough. It’s large size makes it a great conversation piece on your table, side board, or counter. It has a wonderful patination & colors formed over time.The antique metal strips on each end adds even more distinct character.
I purchased this over 50 years ago from a family in rural southern Vermont. These folks said it had been in their family for 2 generations. I have used it in many decorative ways as well as serving several wonderful salads and festive hors d’oeuvre platters with this trough as a base. It’s been a wonderful addition to our home and will hopefully be to yours. less
