An exact reproduction of an 18th century job townsend antique found in the hunter house in newport, rhode island. Upper desk features a bookcase with two solid mahogany doors that open to interior shelves and pockets, the upper desk rests upon a slant lower desk. The slant desk opens to carved shells on interior drawers with a center pocket carved shell with key lock, surrounded by numerous smaller drawers, the writing desk opens and rest upon two pull outs, the bottom desk features four longer dovetailed constructed drawers with solid brass pulls and rest upon ogee bracket feet. An important reproduction of townsend desk licensed to kittinger by the newport preservation society, newport rhode island.
