William Augustin Kolliker - … Read more "The Graduate" - an original etching hand signed and numbered by William A. Kolliker dated 1970. William Augustin Kolliker - Born in 1905. At sixteen, the Switzerland native moved to New York City and began working as an illustrator for newspapers while completing his studies at the Art Students League of New York and the National Academy of Design. During his long career he became the Editor and Art Director of The American Weekly which he held for twenty-five years. In the mid-50s he moved to El Paso, Texas and has been an influential art instructor and mentor at the El Paso Museum of Art. He was presented, in 1963, with the Conquistador Award by the city of El Paso.

We fell in love with the owl's expressive eyes and endearing "roundness". The etching shows wonderful details, vibrant colors and is in great shape. Wear to the raised edge of the frame but we don't really notice it as it adds to the rustic look of the frame. The etching has a raised seal and is hand-signed and numbered.
