It hails from Hefei, Hebei province, featuring floral patterns and a male and female figure in the center. The male figure likely represents Hou Yi, the god of archery from Chinese mythology, and the female is likely his wife, the moon goddess Chang'e. This Antique Carved Window Panel features two figures bordered by symbols of prosperity and good fortune, two fish below and a pair of bats above, and a circular "long life" symbol. Six spacers elegantly support the central panel, while the smaller rectangular panels boast floral motifs. The black paintwork is mostly preserved, providing a beautiful contrast with the paler elm frames. less
