This one has a distinctive lily pad used, or given life as a blanket cover or draping, with the stem wrapping around the corner and stem, or strap being held by the male hand form. A delightful and whimsical attribute, with a cinched or tufted feel if overlooking from above, as images indicate. It may be used for accent, as well. The item came from a prominent Palm Beach, Florida Estate, filled with a treasure trove of Vintage far East, Asian, Chinese, Japanese, and Chinoiserie pieces of distinction. This one is the male version; of an opium pillow, head rest, most notably used in ancient times for elevating one's head, during hot, humid weather while also asleep, in bed, so as to not have one's head and neck area, to not suffuse with heat and perspiration develop.
