This item, came from a Prominent Palm Beach, Florida Estate, filled with a treasure trove of Vintage Far East Asian, Chinese, Japanese, and Chinoiserie pieces of distinction. This one is the female version of an opium pillow, head rest, most notably used in ancient times for elevating one's head, during hot, humid weather while asleep, in bed, so as to not have one's head and neck aree, during sleep, overheat and perspire. In excellent condition. This item is part 1 of 2 pieces, of 2 head opium pillows available, the other being the male form.
