The body of the pot is decorated with finely drawn, polychrome depictions of the Eight Buddhist Immortals visiting with three other deities amidst a heavenly garden of fruited trees, flowering bushes, grasses, mosses and auspicious stones. A dense lattice of green and umber quatrefoils encircles the top of the brushpot on a raised band, bracketed by thin red trim lines. Fruited chevrons encircle the foot, also on a raised band bracketed by thin red trim lines. A blue, four character, Yang Zheng Shu Wu, Yongzheng mark is glazed to the inset base. Circa late 19th century, no later than early 20th.
