An antique French flatware set beautifully decorated with crossed ribbons, small bows, and bell-flowers. The French sterling silver flatware set is service for twelve of five pieces each. The five-piece settings are comprised of:
12 dinner forks, 8 ½" 80 grams each total 960
12 entrement/salad/dessert forks, Forks 7 1/8" 46 grams each total 552
12 dinner spoons, spoons 8 5/8" 82 grams each total 984
12 entrement/dessert spoons, 7 1/8" 50 grams each total 600
12 coffee spoons, 4 7/8 24 grams each, total 288
The set includes 2 large stuffing/serving spoons and eight demitasse spoons.
2 serving spoon, 10 ¾" 131 grams total 262 and 8 demitasse spoons, 4 ¼" 14 grams each total 112
Total sterling silver weight of set is 3758 grams or 120.8225 troy ounces
French sterling silver of .950 guarantee and marked for Lappara & Gabriel (LG) active 1902-1923, at 157 rue du Temple, Paris. The mark used was for French export/import.
Of an interesting note; a monogram for "W" graces almost every piece of the set. Eight of the coffee spoons are monogrammed for "CV" while four have the initials "SB". One dessert spoon does not have a monogram.
